Explorers Part #2

Time to continue Part #2! Next stop that we explored was Clarke Quay - so we walked from Maxwell all the way to Central. Explored a few other places as well when we got lost. Haha! So we went to the basement level of Central and passed by a Japanese convenient store and they were selling cute cartoon biscuits - like the hello kitty one below. However, everything was quite pricey!

Yamakawa Super @ The Central
#B1-28b, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street
(S)059817 - Tel: 65349518

Then we walked to Liang Court - just about a 7 minutes walk from Central. Heard ravings (Ladyironchef) about a Japanese Restaurant there so we decided to check it out! Also, a must go-to place is of course the Meidi-Ya Supermarket! I love visiting it because it really has a lot of good stuffs inside, you can find many snacks from Japan too.

So here's the restaurant - we were there about 6.45, it was already full-house at that timing and when we left, there was quite a long queue! I love the design of the toothpicks holder, it kinda caught my attention once i was seated :)

The food! Both bf and I ordered just one set because we had some snacks before that so we weren't that hungry, this set cost about $13.90++ and i guess it's a reasonable pricing. We totally love how crispy the Tonkatsu was! It was so YUMMMMS. The salad was also good because it had sesame dressing! 4.5/5 stars!

Always so engrossed with his iPhone -facepalm-

Lastly, our dessert! It was like the best Japanese dessert i've ever had.. Zenzai (Red Bean Soup) I'm not quite a fan of beans but this totally proved me wrong. I love mochis too! So chewy and it was a perfect combination with the soup. One bowl, $4.9 - slightly more expensive compared to other restaurants, but it was worth it. It's a must-order-dessert when i revisit once again!

Explorers Part #1

passed by and (taken at red dot museum)

So last week boy and I went on an adventure, traveling from north-west all the way to north-east to get 老伴 bean curd. Apparently we did not do any homework so by the time we reached was already 4pm so there wasn't any left for us to buy :(

So in the end we walked around Maxwell Food Centre and found a chicken rice stall that seems to be quite popular! Lots of Tv advert / Newspaper article was all over the stall so we gave it a try.

And i thought hmm the rice is indeed fragrant, however i prefer the chicken at (Mei Ling St) - the one that bf introduced to me was better! It was quite a big portion for $3, so i didn't really manage to finish it.

Some shots that i took when we were heading to our next location.

It was real fun exploring as some of these places like Far East Square, i've never been there before! I totally love days like this because when bf and I first started dating, we sort of explored around Sg too. Haha, okay so stay tuned for part #2 where i'll continue with a food review of a Jap restaurant!

The boy's 18th celebration!

Time to blog! I didn't blog last week, guessed i was too busy. So here's a post about bf's birthday at Universal Studio Singapore. It was my third - and his fourth time there so this time round we took more rides instead of watching the 4d show and monster rock. The new Transformers ride was so awesome that we had to take it twice, we took kiddy rides like the carousel, roller coaster for kids, and of course the Mummy and Battlestar Galactica!

Birthday boy :-)

It was actually quite crowded considered that it was a monday!

So here are some sneaks of the Transformers Ride: IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT. The 3D effects were so good - If you're gonna take it, just request to take the FIRST row!

Bf said that this appeared in the movie! I don't really recall even
though i've watched all their movies before. Hahaha.

Cheeky boy trying to press all the buttons, much like a kid!
Merchandise in the store.
Bumblebee's car! It looks perfect.
And we had a shot with Bumblebee! Boy said that it was a robot and
someone was controlling it but i thought it was a person in it instead!
Some shots of my handsome boy :)

We dined at Loui's Pizza Parlour - yes, one slice of pizza is this big!
But somehow both of us agreed that the grilled chicken burger tasted much better.

Us with Winnie Woodpecker! I love her shoes - so mad pretty!

These dancers were amazing and they entertained us quite a lot. Haha!
Some shots with the Madagascar crew!

Pretty Carousel! I sat on Alex the lion while Bf took Mort! (You can google to find out more)
My love!
And of cos some shots in the stores!

Ending the day with a shot with Woody Woodpecker!

Baked some cupcakes with fondant for bf as part of his "birthday cake" and i guess it was much of a success, except for the 2 alphabets that was damaged! Wasn't able to surprise him at midnight. :( Sorry boy that i didn't give you any surprise this year, i promise i'll surprise you some other time!

Okay will blog about our exploring trip in the next post!
